Angola 7 Years Later
To sail is necessary, to live is not necessary.
We build the narrative throughout our journey. The years I lived there freed me from the awkward Western vision. Angola is not Musseque.
A touristic reading, easy and immediate, built on old-fashioned dogmas and the fascination of the exotic, distort the contemporary reality in which we live. I am tired of the populist discourse of the Cubata or of the zinc roof, masked of pretense, unique, pure and real cultural manifestation.
There is much more to see and to tell. Angola is progress, faith in us and in others, growth and evolution. The Modern Tropical gives way to the Contemporary Tropical.
Angola is wafina!
